    Why advertise jobs on LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is the professional network in the Netherlands, with 2.0 million daily users. People share their role, experience and skills there. That lets you advertise on LinkedIn specifically based on work and career, something other platforms can't do.

    Professional profile

On LinkedIn, job title, sector, experience and skills are listed in the profile. That makes it possible to show your ad to people with the right background.

    Passive candidates

On LinkedIn, we often reach professionals who aren't actively applying, but are open to a next step.

Which jobs is LinkedIn often used for?

LinkedIn is often used for jobs where education, experience or specific skills matter. Job titles such as engineer, architect or planner also appear literally in LinkedIn profiles, which lets us target precisely on them. This is an indication based on what we often see. Every job and region is different.

    Higher-educated roles

For example policy officers, advisors and specialists.

    Technical roles

For example engineers, architects and technical specialists.

    Managers

For example team leads, shift leads and managers.

    Healthcare professionals

For example nurses and specialists in healthcare.

    Office and planning

For example planners, coordinators and customer service staff.

    Commercial roles

For example account managers and inside sales staff.

    Combining LinkedIn with other channels

You can use multiple channels per job. If you want to reach a broader audience alongside professionals, Meta can be a good addition. If you're also looking for young starters or vocational trainees, organisations often also use TikTok.

What's the difference between promoting a job and advertising on LinkedIn?

On LinkedIn, you can bring attention to a job in two ways. A promoted job mainly appears to people actively searching in LinkedIn Jobs. An ad through LinkedIn Ads appears in the feed, including for people who aren't actively searching. SOAP advertises through LinkedIn Ads.

    Targeting Agent

How does the Targeting Agent set your audience on LinkedIn?

The Targeting Agent knows the options within LinkedIn. It reads your job ad text, translates it into an audience on LinkedIn, and uses data from earlier campaigns to adjust. You don't need to set anything up in LinkedIn yourself.

    1. Reads your job ad text

Picks out the role, the location, the required skills and the experience level from your job ad.

    2. Translates to LinkedIn

Converts this into job titles, skills, sectors and experience level within LinkedIn.

    3. Learns from earlier campaigns

Uses the results of earlier campaigns to see which audiences produce applicants, and adjusts accordingly.

The Targeting Agent never selects on age, gender or background. In the Netherlands, you're not allowed to discriminate on these grounds when hiring, and that also applies to the audience for your ad.

How does advertising on LinkedIn work with SOAP?

Your ad appears from your own LinkedIn company page. SOAP manages the ad account, you only give access to your company page. That way, your brand stays visible and you don't need to set up an ad account yourself.

    Image

An ad with a single image, the role and what you offer.

    Video

A short video of the workplace or a colleague talking about the job.

What does advertising a job on LinkedIn cost?

The costs consist of two parts: your ad budget and the SOAP monthly fee. On LinkedIn, the cost per click is often higher than on Meta or TikTok, because you reach professionals very specifically. How much ad budget you need depends on the role, the region and the competition. With SOAP, you pay from €299 per month, with no markup on your ad budget.
